Taos Healing and Reconciliation Project

The Taos Healing and Reconciliation Project is our four-year pilot project that started in 2017, which aims to heal racial divides in Taos, New Mexico building upon its strong cultural heritage. The community identified two key offerings for which the Healing and Reconciliation Institute was invited to offer support. Every year in the fall, our project partners offer an Indigenous healing community health fair to the historically harmed communities of Taos. Our second offering is for those who wish to be in support to this Indigenous-led effort, which includes public workshops and trainings.

In 2021, as was done in 2020, the Indigenous healing community health fair is held virtually.  Because of COVID-19, we may offer another community event in August 2022, to honor our commitment.

Our work is developed by a team of organizers and planners local to Taos. See the Taos Team page.
